Chapter 1 - The Elementary Principles of Healthy Living
Lesson  1 The ABC's of Good Health
Defines nutrition and its effects on your body.  This lesson discusses the importance of nutrition in diet and exercise programs as well as the role of nutrition in lifelong health and disease prevention.
Lesson  2  The 123's of Counting Calories
Focuses on calories and answers the following questions:  What is a calorie?  How many calories do I need?  Are all calories the same?  Do I need to count every calorie?
Lesson  3  The Building Blocks of a Healthy Diet
Looks at the USDA Food Guide Pyramid.  This lesson explains the nutrients needed by the human body and dietary recommendations and food labeling as well as the role of supplements. Food groups and related serving recommendations are also discussed.  The USDA Nutrient Database is introduced, and you learn how to use your Food Journal to track what you eat.
Lesson  4 The Building Blocks of Physical Activity
Focuses on the importance of physical exercise in building a healthy lifestyle.  Shows you how to add more exercise in your daily routine and how to build an exercise program.

Chapter 2 - Healthy, Wealthy and Wise! (OK, maybe not wealthy)
Lesson  5  Why "Diet" is a Four-letter Word
Discusses the dangers of yo-yo dieting, its effects on your metabolism and how diets can actually sabotage your efforts to lose weight.
Lesson  6  Fad Diets and Misleading Advertising
Low-Carb, The Zone, Reduced Fat and Fat-Free products….on and on the list goes.  How do you know the good from the bad?  How much of a good thing is actually bad?  We’ll take a look.
Lesson  7 Popping Pills
This lesson examines why you should think again before taking diet pills.  Common diet pills and supplements are discussed.
Lesson  8 Making Wise Choices When Eating Out
Most of us dine out frequently.  This lesson discusses making good food choices at restaurants and even the fast food joints.  You will learn techniques to help you overcome the dietary challenges of eating out.

Chapter 3 - Let the Knowledge Set You Free...Fat-Free!
Lesson 9 What Works for Me?
Lesson 9 will help you develop a personalized program with nutrition and exercise choices that can help you reach your goals for a healthier life.  You will set your own personal fitness goals and learn how to use the BMI Calculator, Food Journal and Activity Journal to monitor your progress.
